Selected Brief Updates:
INUYASHA
by Takahashi Rumiko

Overview: Kagome is a modern student teamed up with the strange boy
Inuyasha in 15th or 16th century Japan, seeking to retrieve the
fragments of the magical Shikon No Tama.
This issue: A young woman named Sango, of a village of demon-hunters,
is the last survivor of a vicious trap when she was working with her
family away from town. She awakens to the care of a young lord. The
young man begins conversing with Naraku, who brings news of the
destruction of her village. Meanwhile, Inuyasha and Kagome arrive at
the remains of Sango's village, the very place whence the Shikon No
Tama had once come. There, they meet Myouga the louse again, and they
learn the village had been attacked while Sango's family was gone.
Little do they know that evil Naraku has blamed the destruction of
Sango's village on Inuyasha, and that Sango is now swearing
revenge.
ME GUMI NO DAIGO
by Soda Masahito

Overview: Asahina Daigo is a young firefighter with the "Me" Company,
who has an unusual ability to find and rescue people in danger.
This issue: Gomi and the two workers are still trapped at the
construction fire. Daigo is secretly working his way through a
gas-filled pipe to get to Gomi, crushing his fears with his
determination to save his boss. Meanwhile, the Rescue Team has
arrived, and Kanda (not knowing of Daigo) also wants to use the pipe
to get to Gomi, but is ordered not to. The injured Gomi, trapped in
the rubble, suddenly hears the sounds of Daigo's approach through the
pipe. He frantically tries to get him to stop, for the rubble area
still has open fires, and opening the gas pipe could lead to an
explosion. Not knowing the would-be rescuer is Daigo, Gomi can only
think in bewilderment of the idiocy of someone who would come through
a gas pipe.
LOVE
by Ishiwata Osamu

Overview: Takagi Ai ("Love") is a girl who, in a bid to have a
re-match with her old tennis rival, has entered a high school tennis
club disguised as a boy.
This issue: The slimy reporter who had been following Ai around
finally has proof that she's a 13-year-old girl! He announces he will
broadcast the evidence on a nationwide news show at 5 pm. But Ai's
friends and allies rally around her, and they decide to counter the
media blast with their own, and create new supporters for her. They
also prepare for the media onslaught, and are determined to keep her
in the competition. As one of her previous opponents says, "It's only
right that the victor goes on to play!" As promised, the scoop is
broadcast at 5 pm.
JAJAUMA GROOMING UP!
by Yuki Masami

Overview: Although originally a city boy, young Kuze Shunpei has taken
to working as a farm hand at the Watarai racing horse breeding farm;
he also has taken to Watarai Hibiki, one of the Watarai daughters.
This issue: Hibiki and Tazuna have just had a confrontation about
Shunpei, and Shunpei wound up involved. Now, Hibiki, forced to look
at her own feelings, is starting to worry that he'll leave the farm.
Shunpei later talks in private with Tazuna. But though he tries to
apologize for not being straightforward with her earlier, she tells
him she's angry about Hibiki's wishy-washy nature and callous belief that
everything will resolve itself if she just ignores things. "Do
something about that stupid girl," she tells Shunpei. Later on,
Shunpei mutters to himself about leaving the farm for the summer.
Hibiki hears about it second hand and, believing he's thinking of
leaving permanently, storms into the barn to confront him....
GHOST SWEEPER MIKAMI GOKURAKU DAISAKUSEN!!
by Shiina Takashi

Overview: Mikami Reiko is a money-hungry, gorgeous female ghost
buster, aided by her sex-starved and underpaid male assistant
Yokoshima Tadao, as well as kind and gentle female ex-ghost O-kinu.
This issue: Mikami, back in her body, now has the priceless crystal
that Ashtaroth needs to operate the contraption that will render the
universe his. She tells him the laws of the universe will not allow
him to so easily muck with it (just as how time travel to the past
will usually fail to change history). Ashtaroth even slips on a
convenient banana peel. Wising up, he suddenly claims to change his
mind about ruling the universe, and the universe suddenly stops
opposing him. He momentarily grabs back the crystal, but a gasoline
can conveniently falls on his head. At last, Yokoshima has the
crystal and is ready to destroy it, but Ashtaroth tells him that doing
so will destroy Luciola's chances of coming back to life. Ashtaroth
tells Yokoshima that he's willing to let Yokoshima and Luciola become
the Adam and Eve of a new universe if he'll only return the crystal.
Luciola's spirit screams at Yokoshima that Ashtaroth is lying, but
Yokoshima hesitates.
MAJOR
by Mitsuda Takuya

Overview: It has been 4 years since Honda Goro put together the
Mifune Little League. Now, in junior high school, he is reunited
with his old friends and is faced with a new baseball crisis....
This issue: The 200th episode starts off in full color! Honda and
Satou are still in the fight to enter Kaidou high school. Their
"team's" pitcher can no longer pitch, so Honda is the new pitcher. He
rejoices as Satou goes off to scout the other mini-teams' game. Satou
watches, worried, as the C team (featuring an extremely feminine male
pitcher) easily creams its opponent. Meanwhile, Honda is warming up
his pitching with a teammate. He keeps his throws nice and easy, but
decides to really cut loose with the last one. His teammate falls
over from the impact.
